We went to celebrate my wife’s birthday. I noted it when I made the reservation and again when we confirmed. Food and atmosphere were great. Our waiter, Greg, made no mention of my wife’s birthday...ended the meal with the check. Very disappointing end to an otherwise great night.

A colleague and I went for dinner after arriving at the hotel from a day of traveling and really just wanted a beverage and some good food. The food was good but the service was somewhat lacking (we did not sit at the bar). It took about 10-15 mins to pour another glass of wine and another draft beer - we were 2 of only a handful of people in there at the time. 🤨

I want to start this by saying this review is two parts. The first is that the food was fantastic, the flavor, presentation, and overall quality of the food was amazing, and this is the only reason that the review deserves any stars at all. So if you are looking for delicious food, this is a great stop, however, do not expect good service which I will detail next. We stayed at the Barrymore for two nights and visited The Continental twice. The first was on our first night, and we were coming down for drinks and their "Dessert Happy Hour". We were seated in the corner and things were off to a decent start as the server brought us menus rather promptly, but unfortunately, that was the end of any timeliness in our visit. The server didn't return to take our order for almost 15 minutes, to which when she returned she seemed to not really know what they had on the menu, we ordered our drinks which included one beer, a mixed drink, and two wines. After approximately 10 minutes passed, she returned with one mixed drink and the wrong beer. She advised us we were out of the two wines the ladies had ordered. So they picked an alternative, and the server left and returned with the correct beer, and advised us the other wines were also sold out. So the ladies asked if anything else was out, the server said no so they ordered a third option, which after the server returned was apparently ALSO sold out. At this time, they gave up on ordering a drink and requested water. Since we were there for desserts, we inquired if the desserts were out, she said only the Strawberry dessert. Since we wanted their rich chocolate dessert, this was fine. We said we were going to wait until 9pm (10 minutes away) to order our desserts, and when she walked by, we said we would like the chocolate dessert, to which she goes, "Oh they just told us that was sold out as well". We simply finished the two drinks we were able to get and ended our night. Thinking this was a fluke, we came back for dinner another night. Unfortunately, service was SLOWER and even less prepared than our drinks mishap. Again, they were sold out of many drink options, the server (who was a different one) didn't know what was on the menu, and when asked questions about the food or drinks had to go to the back to ask for everything. We ordered our food and had an approximate 40 minute wait to get the food, which other tables were also experiencing. During this time, we didn't get refills on any of the drinks, including water and sodas. Once she finally was delivering the food, I asked if "once the food is delivered we could get refills". She then stopped delivering our food after only providing half the dishes to get the refills. Once she returned to bring the last plate which was forgotten in the back she leaned across the table to give the plate, causing her sleeve and shirt to rub across a member of our tables food. She even acknowledged this by saying, I am so sorry for that... but didn't offer to replace the food or anything. Overall, as I stated before, the food was amazing, and I have no concerns with the actual food. But the service was incredibly slow, unprofessional, and ill prepared to provide the level of service that you would expect from an establishment. Especially for the price of the meal. Unfortunately, I can not recommend this location due to the service and how slow it was. In total we spent almost 90 minutes to have one course (even though we ordered appetizers, it was all delivered at the same time). I truly hope this feedback can be used to retrain the staff and hopefully have a better experience for people in the future. I would be willing to try the location again, simply for the food, however, I would suggest to visit only if you have ample amounts of time to spare due to the service, and come with PLENTY of patience.
