We used to come here quite frequently when the new owners first took over, but the last two times we have been have been disappointing. Slow service lately. $17.00 for a steak quesadilla? There was hardly any steak on it. The pork carnitas sounded good, but there was no flavor and the meat was cut into large chunks with lots fat and connective tissue.. I took one bite, but could not eat it. Our waitress took it off the bill. Thought we'd give it another try. Stopped in for a snack and ordered poutine. Waited about 40 minutes, then asked if someone could check on our order only to find out it was never placed. When it did come, there was hardly any gravy on it. Won't be back. Go to Lonesome Dove or Anchor Pub.
I was very disappointed and upset about your event (Halloween Party). We paid a good amount of money(45 per person) and made some effort on our costumes....and to have the staff, who I would assume, did not pay for a ticket, be allowed to participate and eventually win the contest, just because everyone knew her and cheered the loudest.....just wasn't fair. The staff shouldn't have been allowed to participate, much less win. The buffet was disappointing as well, after waiting so long for it to be set up. The DJ was good, but I would not classify him as live entertainment.
We decided to try this place while in the area until Sunday. Was ok. Had locals sitting at a table that were pretty loud. I ordered the chicken Alfredo. Was very cheesy. Couldn't really taste the Alfredo sauce. But it was ok. The chicken had no seasoning. Had to add a bunch of salt. Hubby had perch that I didn't think had any seasoning. I brought most of mine home. Are waitress was very nice.
The food and service here was amazing. My wife said the burger was the best she had had before. I had the Reuben Sandwich, which was also great. Th Reuben meat is made in house and the rye bread is sourced locally. The waitress Kayla was very nice and helpful as well. She offered to see if the kitchen would make a special dessert. She definitely went above and beyond.
Steak bites and Caesar salad were amazing! Salad was fresh, tossed with the perfect amount of dressing. Food definitely surpassed our expectations!
The ribeye steak was totally overcooked and about a quarter inch thick. The baked potato was not fully cooked. I hope they don’t charge me full price for whatever market price is. I was happy that the bill was adjusted. I would suggest that thicker steaks are purchased so that it can be cooked to order.
This place is getting better and better each time I go, whether dine-in or takeout 🥡. The new owners have fresh eyes with big visions for the future of the business and the future of AuGres! They are constantly putting out new, healthy dishes with salmon, baked and pan-fried fish, and a decent size list of delicious salads. My favorite is the one named after my favorite state in the US. Now I'm hungry....but they're not open cuz its 1am. I'll have to wait a few more hours. See you there, Lenny. Had a burger 🍔 last night. It was cooked exactly like I asked for it. The buns are branded which I think adds a special touch.
I was skeptical to visit after the ratings. The experience was good. The food and service was very good. The portions were good. We had the soup of the day, Italian Steak, and Michigan Salad. Would absolutely visit again.
