Wonderful outing today for the Lunch Bunch. My Cobb Salad was an excellent mix of Free Range Chicken, Blue Cheese, Bacon and Greens. Others enjoyed the Curry Wrap, Chicken Ruben, Chicken Club and BBQ Pork Sandwich Special. All prepared and served by a great staff.
Food is just OK, I went there due to the fact that they use local / more natural ingredients but that is not enough of a reason to make me want to go back. As many people have said the service is somewhat bad and the bar guy scratched his beard before squeezing the citrus slice into my drink. Gross!!
My go to lunch/brunch spot. Very friendly to alternative food options like vegetarian and vegan. What I like best is the ability to have multiple healthy options I enjoy and crave! The one drawback is the consistently slow service. Food takes a while to come out which can be understandable if it's made to order but it also always feels like the wait staff leaves you alone too long at a time.
The food at The Jones is in-credible. If you would like your life changed for the better, order the chimichanga on the menu or the shrimp and grits. This is the perfect place to sit around and have a slow, boozy brunch, so give yourself plenty of time on a Sunday morning, and bring a friend who you owe a good conversation. Be courteous to the servers/staff, and they will be incredibly sweet back. Even if not, they will be quick and kind, but I recommend taking the time to chat with them - they always have great insight on the ever-changing menu items and specials.
Not sure why people gave the recent negative reviews. I'm from Gainesville and have always liked the Jones from it's original location and not downtown. I went twice recently when I was vack. Once for brunch/lunch on Saturday around 1pm and dinner at 6pm. Both times I was seated immediately, the food came out promptly and service was great. I got the Blackhawk burrito and Indian Curry Bowl. Both are great and can be made vegan. Great place for everyone, including vegans and vegetarians
In a town full of restaurants, avoid this one. The service is consistently bad (it feels like the staff are just not happy to seat another table) and there are better spots for food (whether you're a vegetarian or a meat eater). It's supposed to be a Gainesville hot spot, but I've left unimpressed on multiple occasions.
My wife and I went with our freshman daughter. Sat outside around sunset. Hard to choose from the diverse dinner menu and beer list. Our food: Inca bowl, first tacos, and hummus plate. We were very pleased all around. Highly recommended.
Good food good service. I asked for a medium cooked buffalo burger however it came well done. We were a group of 8 and everyone was satisfied so it is a great place to hang have some drinks and get a bite to eat.
