Absolutely Stellar! If you are looking for a breakfast or lunch spot in Norfolk that hits every single mark, this is it. The Food: While the pancakes are legendary, do not sleep on their lunch menu. The Reuben sandwich is an absolute masterpiece—perfectly toasted, packed with flavor, and easily one of the best in the area. Everything came out hot, fresh, and completely delicious. The Service: "Stellar" Jacqueline took care of us, felt at home. The staff is incredibly welcoming, attentive, and fast, making you feel right at home the second you walk through the door. Fantastic food and top-tier service. I will definitely be a regular here! Highly recommend! Oh the espresso martini will wake you up and have you on here writing a long review 😅
Was not impressed by the rolled up pancakes. Menu did not specify that the pancakes would be served that way. Turkey sausage was rubbery and grits were flavorless and undercooked. However, my wife enjoyed her omelette.
Found this little hidden gem. Was looking for a place to eat before we got on our cruise. The food was great and the service too. The pancakes are huge and definitely could have shared it.
Cozy little diner. Love this place. Never too busy. Always friendly staff. Can’t go wrong with any of their breakfast items. My favorite is the country fries steak. They also have a bar there if you would like a cocktail. I’ve never had the lunch but the burger looked good when I saw it ordered nearby.
Very small, family friendly establishment. Food was amazing and priced pretty well. Definitely will be coming back to try more things
I really wanted to like this place. I’ve heard great things about the deep-fried French toast, so I made three separate attempts to dine here. Unfortunately, the inconsistency has made it impossible to ever recommend this establishment. • Attempt 1: Showed up on a Monday, only to find they were closed. • Attempt 2: They were forced to close early due to plumbing issues. I understand things break, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried one more time. • Attempt 3: I arrived at 12:30 PM (well before their 2:30 PM closing time). I waited 20 minutes to be seated, only for the manager to finally come out and announce they were closing the kitchen two hours early due to a backlog. After wasting my time on three separate occasions, I’m done. Reliable service is the bare minimum for a restaurant, and this establishment clearly isn't interested in providing it. No amount of good food is worth the frustration of not knowing if a business will actually be open when they say they are. Save your time and go somewhere that actually values your patronage.
Great hidden little gem!! Was very pleasantly surprised by the ambiance and service!!! This was a choice on a whim and well worth the visit. The service was impeccable and highly attentive. The food was great and the portions were generous, especially the French toast. Will definitely be back again.
This Cafe is both modern and clean, yet captures the old diner atmosphere that makes us reminisce in such a delightful way. Of the many diners my friends and I have tried in the area while completing duties on base, this one was our favorite. Many diners had ‘meh’ food that none of us cared one way or the other about, but the food here was delicious every time. And they did NOT shirk on the presentation; it was lovely. Theresa was our waitress a few of the times we visited and she was fabulous and so attentive, as well as kind and a joy to talk to! We enjoyed all the oldies songs they played, too. What a great place! We’ll definitely be coming back on our next assignment here ;)
