See All ReviewsTraveling through the middle of nowhere and had limited choices of places to eat. Stopped in at the roadside grill and was pleasantly surprised. The hamburger was pretty good and they had some kind of jalapeno or something like that on it. That made it a little extra tasty. The fries were really good. Service was pretty good. For a very small town, this is a pretty good place.
We got waited on immediately, received our drinks and placed order. Waited for over an hour for food. No one ever came to check on us for refills, etc. In fact, we never saw our waitress again. Someone else FINALLY brought our food out. Husband had what was supposed to be an 18 Oz new York strip steak. It weighed maybe 8 Oz and looked like a thin chuck roast. He said it was very tough and never even received a steak knife with it. I had the tenderloin and fries. The tenderloin was about 3 inches wide and 5 inches long, mostly tough. I ordered it with everything and it had only lettuce and pickle. The lady did bring the tomato and onion out to me, as well as new fries, because the first ones were drowning in salt and pepper and were old and soggy. I had ordered plain fries. We also ordered a plain cheese burger,to go,for the dogs and it was really nice looking when we opened it, got home went to cut it up and it was totally RAW inside. This cost us $73. We will not be back.
My girlfriend and I love small town diners when traveling. We were really excited to try this place but unfortunately once there, we couldn't wait to leave! The service was absolutely horrible! The place was shortstaffed with 1 waitress in the entire restaurant. Our burger and tenderloin took 45 minutes to our table and came with none of the toppings and condiments we asked for. My girlfriend wanted onion rings with her sandwich but only when the food arrived was she told theyre out of onion rings. It took another 10 minutes to get her fries. I had to find the waitress for a water refill. When I paid the bill I asked a gentleman if they were shortstaffed and he acknowledged he didn't staff more than one server because its the weekend after Christmas. What??? Are you kidding me? It's a Sunday! People eat after church and thousands upon thousands of people travel on the interstate following Christmas!! This experience was an absolute FAIL and we will not be back!
