See All ReviewsWe have waited quite a while to go eat here....have heard all the raves about breakfast here! So hubby and I decided to go. I expected it to be crowded, but it wasn't. We ordered 2 breakfast plates and literally as soon as server brought our drinks, someone was behind her with our food. That immediately told me that this was not prepared when we ordered. I was right. Biscuits were cold, hash browns were warm, ham was beyond cold. They didn't even put it on the griddle to grill. My hubby's waffle looked pretty, but it was barely warm. Both of us where very underwhelmed with the food. If you are going to charge these kind of prices...you need to make sure you are serving good, fresh food. Honestly Waffle House does better and my hubby won't even eat there. We left very disappointed and quickly talked ourselves out of trying it again....our $50 check for 2 people made sure of that!
The dining area is modern, well lit, and very clean. Yet it retains the cozy atmosphere that many enjoy when having a meal with loved ones. The decorations and color scheme are tasteful and contribute to an enjoyable experience. From the moment I walked in, I was served by Kendra, who provided stellar service and made sure that any requests were handled in a friendly and timely manner. Her banter was very good and I felt more like a guest than just a customer under her care. The food was great and did not disappoint. The portions were well-balanced and the quality of my breakfast was much to my satisfaction. Don't let me get started on the coffee here. It's one of the best brews I've had in a while, and I'd swing by just to grab a steaming cup in the future. The Texas Cafe is a fine establishment with food that satisfies, an atmosphere that feels like home, and the service to back it up. I plan on returning
3.3 stars. Quick Sunday breakfast before heading back home. Tried out The Texas Cafe b/c of the reviews. We were fortunate and beat the breakfast crowd as shortly after we were seated, the rush began. Server Ashley did a very good job taking care of us and explaining the menu. The coffee was nice and always topped off. Good selection of breakfast and lunch options with the ability to mix and match sides too. Omelette with a side of mashed potatoes? Sure you can! Burger with a bowl of oatmeal? Absolutely! Get creative people. Wife had the White Omelette ($14.75) with pancakes and mixed berries (+$1). Youngest son had the 2AM Chicken and Waffle Sandwich with French Fries ($16.25). I went with the Huevos Rancheros ($15.25) with pancakes. In literally no time at all, the food arrived. The service here was ridiculously fast! Plating was good but flavors needed more “umph!” Again, not a bad visit but nothing that left us thinking “Wow!” From observing the dining room, most everyone was chatting away and enjoying breakfast. Good service, average food.
