8 months agoThe Weighted Plate is… well, something. It looks like a handful of buildings were stitched together at random and someone said, “Yeah, sure, that’ll work.” I guess it’s near New Braunfels, but honestly, it feels more like the suburb of a suburb that accidentally ended up with a stage. The service was split right down the middle, one person was genuinely great, the other seemed to be actively auditioning for “Worst Employee of the Month.” We came for a punk show, but halfway through, the stage lost power and the whole thing screeched to a halt. Nothing says punk rock like waiting around in awkward silence while cowboy boots and checkered button-ups shuffle past you (at a punk show, no less). Food and drinks? Very limited. Bathrooms? Also limited. Crowd? Mostly hyper-local, with an unexpected number of children running around. It’s a strange mix: DIY energy, suburban family vibes, and technical difficulties all rolled into one. Not the worst night out, not the best. Just… kinda weird.

9 months ago⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Weighted Plate is amazing! The staff here is super friendly and welcoming, which made my experience even better. The food and drinks are fantastic — I especially loved their cocktails with egg whites (don’t worry, you can’t taste the egg, it just adds a nice frothy texture on top). It’s so rare to find places that offer that! I ordered the Country Breakfast and the Raspberry Sour, and both were excellent. They serve breakfast/brunch until 2pm, and they also have a full selection of craft cocktails, beer, wine, and coffee served all day. On top of that, they offer WiFi and have plenty of seating with outlets throughout the space, making it a great spot to relax or get work done. There’s even outdoor seating in the back if you’d rather enjoy some fresh air. I’m only in town for the weekend but ended up spending the entire day here two days in a row because I enjoyed it so much. They also have plenty of other drink options if egg whites aren’t your thing. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area!

10 months agoFirst time to visit, and it was more than I expected. Top notch service behind the bar, affordable drinks, atmosphere was all Hill country vibe, and to top it off we had steak for dinner that was cooked to perfection. My wife had the Filet and i had the ribeye. Both cooked perfect and flavor….amazing!. Highly recommend the steak dinner. Wish I’d left room for their pizza, it looked amazing too! Next time we’ll try the pizza for sure. If you are looking for live music, great service, craft cocktails and food, with hill country vibe, i recommend it.

a year agoCame out for a friend's birthday brunch held outside. Relax, friendly & playful environment for all. Food is definitely a must try. Ordered the avocado toast. Jalapeño jam a tad spicy but overall fresh & tasty. Next time will try the drinks. Will return.

a year agoWhat an awesome new haunt! Has a “Speak Easy” vibe with some very creative cocktails. A few wine and beer choices as well. A great outdoor space with live music on the weekends. The staff really make the place…friendly and welcoming. Some food options in the evening provided by a “food truck” of sorts. You have to try this place.

a year agoRecently moved to new location-5441 FM1102 in New Braunfels. It's now an amazing speakeasy with an outdoor terrace bar coming mid October and featuring live music!! Chef Jacob on site with delicious food. Playground outside for the kids

2 years agoLove this local place! Great live music, food trucks, events and drink specials! Bar has a great drink menu and has best prices in town that I’ve seen! Everyone is friendly and you just want to relax and stay a while! When you go, ask for the Thorogood special! A beer and shot for $10!!

3 years agoUnexpected discovery that is such a great spot for NB. A unique bar that is connected to its partner gym. Don't let the gym intimidate you. This owner has done his best to make this place feel inviting, comfortable, chill, and dare I say cozy. It shows in all the details of this small layout that is being updated fast. I am excited for the owner and what this place can continue to become for NB.
