Cozy quaint small town cafe. The staff was friendly and the food was good. We had a bit of a wait for the food but it was hot when we got it. We ordered the po k 3 to split. Crab cake, oysters and cat fish all fried and we chose green beans and macaroni salad- not pasta salad but old fashioned macaroni salad. We split a slice of homemade coconut cake with whipped cream and ice cream. We will be back!
Our service was phenomenal! The portion was perfect & recommended by our waitress. The food was hot & fried nicely! I look forward to returning & trying other options including breakfast!
Extremely friendly and well ran. The food is what you expect to get. The Ruben was well made with plenty of meat. The club and burgers are also yummy. Desserts are homemade by a local chef.
Really wanted to enjoy this restaurant. It took 30 plus minutes to get our food. 4 tables in the restaurant at the time counting the Togo order. Hubby had the stuffed flounder with ff and greens. Flounder was extremely over cooked. The french fries were cut fresh but served cold. I had chicken salad sandwich, which was very bland as well as the greens. The waitress was very nice and top notch. Unfortunately with all the food left on the plate, no one asked if everything was OK. We paid the bill, left a nice tip and we will not be back.
Really disappointed after reading reviews. I gave the food and service 5 stars because we didn't stay and eat. The atmosphere ran us away. The entry is kind of odd - arrows directing you to a side entrance screen door. Parking lot is very small. The lower part where you enter was full of people just hanging out. Their tables had dirty dishes so I assume they just enjoyed hanging out. Only available tables were up a steep ramp which I could not walk up due to my bad knees. No steps or other alternative. It was kind of warm and muggy in there. Outside it was 80 degrees so shouldn't be that tough to cool the place down. We may try it again one day.
The only reason this is five stars is because Google doesn't allow six. To-do Cafe is an absolute home run! We started with pickle chips & Crab Bisque. Wife had Fried Oyster Salad; I had Fried Oyster Lunch Basket. Everything was excellent! We live in NoVA but will return here . . . just for lunch!
If it wern't for the slow service during a slow time (there was hardly anyone else in there) I'd probably give it a 5 star. The food was great! We ordered old bay chips and crab ball for apps and friend shrimp & crab cake sandwitch for meal. All of it was delicious!
Very solid seafood experience!! 😋 Save room for dessert, or even better, start with it 😉 because the extensive list is homemade!! 😍 The fried Catfish was succulent and cooked perfectly. The sides were tasty, especially the Potato Salad and Onion Petals 👌!! Did I mention how good the Coconut Custard pie was?!?! If you're traveling Rt 17, stop in Tappahannock and enjoy a delicious leisurely lunch or dinner that won't break the bank 🏦💸 !!!
