See All ReviewsThis is my deacon time trying this place. I asked for a omelette and pepper and onions. The eggs were so flat i didn’t know if there was anything inside the omelette! i had to lift the egg to check. The onions and peppers were fresh. Looked at the frozen was and she said they had no Spinach or tomato. for 4 additional dollars! I should have known when it wasn’t on the receipt as an omelette just egg. The waiters were Respectful. I also had chicken and waffles. That wasn’t the best to go look. It was sweaty from the brown box it was placed in as well as the 3 unseasoned chicken tenders. For $35 Please start using fresh eggs. seem like eggs in a box. and season the food.
I've been wanting to try this place out for a while. So, when my college best friend came in town to spend some time with for my birthday celebration, we wanted to do brunch and this was one of the places I suggested. She picked this place and we headed over to West Philly to check em out. The restaurant is situated at the corner, with signage that makes it noticeable enough so you know where it is when driving up pr passing by. Inside it is to large, but the setup is in a way that doesn't make it feel crowded - some cafe wooden tables (a few two-seaters and a couple four-six seaters) and some countertop seating like a diner. The staff are all cool, down to earth people working hard to serve the people and give the best service as possible - we had a fun moment with two of them and they made sure to check on us throughout our meal.. As for the food - it was very good and I was happy with my choice. Because they had a specialty menu based on one of my have artist (Jay-Z), I had to get something off of that menu. There were a couple of chickens that caught my but I ended up going with the "Lobster & Scrimp" which was a shrimp and grits entree that also included lobster. My friend also got the #3 option from the specialty menu (think of his song about certain people in a French city 😬) which was a variation of a French toast. Our food was served at the perfect temperature, good portion size and had a good flavor/taste to it. For drinks, she got the Peach Lavender Lemonade and I ordered the complimentary drink from the specialty menu - the "D.O.A" which was a dragon fruit and orange aperol spritz. I'm not normally a spritz person, but this one wasn't bad and I actually enjoyed/drank it all; I think the dragon fruit taste added something extra to it for me. Good spot for brunch/breakfast. Look forward to coming back to try out more dishes from here.
The service was outstanding from being seated to being served to getting the check. Everyone was pleasant and efficient. The food was delicious. The catfish and grease did not disappoint especially drink. Drinks are delicious as well. The playlist was phenomenal if you are someone who enjoys R&B and hip-hop Spanning from the 80s. The plate is super cute. The food came fast and the prices aren’t crazy. I I can’t wait to go back.
