I love trying new places with a great vibe. Small place but it is nice. Unfortunately I had the salmon greens and Mac n cheese and my food was not hot what so ever. It was literally cold. I assume waiting for the lamb chops to get done, I told the server immediately and they literally warmed my food up instead of remaking it fresh so I give it a 0/10. I didn’t even eat I asked for a box immediately and left when I should have just sent the food completely back. The greens are canned greens with some seasoning on it. The lamb chops were good. I am unsure if I will return to this place as I wasn’t pleased with my food but I say try it yourself. It is also byob and I didn’t know
Byob establishment: As you first walk in it gives me basement vibes. That can be a good/bad thing. The place is extra small. There is no place to wait. The high top chairs are not made for people with hips or larger butts. They are uncomfortable. My friend and I were sat near the restroom with the heat blowing right on us. Not complaining about the warmth of the place but a bit bothersome with it blowing directly on you. Teiana was nice and came in a timely manner. We had no issue with service. The rating is strictly on the food. The menu doesn't state it but the entrees do come with 2 sides. We shared the Jay's trio. My friend ordered an a la carte lobster and I added a side of Mac and cheese. We ordered the lamb chops med well. They came out well done and a bit tough to cut. The salmon was bland. Unbeknownst to us, they poured an Alfredo sauce over the mash potatoes. The sauce was good but would've preferred on the side. The shrimp was seasoned well. The Mac and cheese was 3/5. We tried the peach cobbler and definitely do not recommend because when did jelly,compote, or whatever it was start getting used in cobbler??
We went to Truffle Chicago for my mom’s birthday. The service was really good. We ordered several appetizers. Shrimp devil eggs, buffalo salmon rolls, honey hot and sweet chili wings and crab cakes. Everything came out fast, fresh and hot. For dinner we ordered lamb chops, salmon with several different sides. The only bad thing was the greens were a bit salty for our taste buds. But that wasn’t a problem because the staff was very accommodating in switching to what ever we wanted. Will definitely go back. The place is small so having reservations is recommended.
