a month agoI had dinner here tonight with my husband and another couple and we all LOVED it. What an amazing experience. The food was a work of art. The ingredients fresh and delicious, and the presentation outstanding. The service was excellent. The servers were so well trained and knowledgeable about each of the courses presented. I would like to mention one of our servers named River who was fabulous. What a memorable night. We will be booking at the chefs table next time. I highly recommend Valle for an all around amazing foodie experience. (The restaurant is also beautiful inside and patio is warm and inviting)

2 months agoI rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience at Valle in Oceanside warrants one. The issue was not the food. It was the service and how the situation was handled. We were told seating was first come, first served and that we were first in line when we returned. Following staff instructions, we ordered drinks while waiting for a table. During that time, we were asked whether we were “only having drinks,” even though we clearly stated we were waiting to order dinner. Shortly after being told we were next, another party of three took a four person table without staff intervention. Instead, we were moved to a table described as designed for three guests, while the other group remained at the larger table. A manager approached us twice to emphasize the table size and later spoke to nearby staff while pointing toward our table. It was noticeable and uncomfortable. When a server finally took our order, the first words were, “So what are you going to eat?” The tone was abrupt and impatient. When food arrived, only three plates were provided for four guests, and requesting an additional plate was met with visible irritation. After we asked for the check, we suddenly received smiles. When we expressed interest in dessert, the attitude immediately shifted back to cold and dismissive. The restaurant automatically adds a 20 percent service charge. Based on this experience, the service did not justify it. If this one star represents anything, it reflects the service. If zero were an option, that would be more accurate. We did order drinks and food (photos attached). We were genuinely excited to experience a Michelin-recognized restaurant, but left feeling disappointed. I hope future guests do not have a similar experience.

3 months agoIt was an experience that transported me to Valle de Guadalupe. The flavor of every dish and drink was unique, and the service was incredible, I had never been treated so well at a restaurant. I highly recommend that you go and experience it. I will definitely be back, since they mention that they change the menu every few months.

8 months agoAn experience that will not be forgotten!! For a birthday dinner!! Sat down at bar for a drink, quickly took us through to our table. We started with our 7 course meal. You would think you would not be full, so not the case!! Was waited on hand and foot!! Every meal brought out was explained. Did not do wine pairing. We were offered a fascinating tour of the kitchen and met the chef. You could eat off the floor!! Highly recommend!! Would visit again!! Thank you for an amazing time!!

8 months agoA very gorgeous restaurant indeed, right by the boardwalk in Oceanside. Lovely wine selection as well, all hailing from Mexico. With the food - it felt all too heavily sauced, which masked and overpowered a lot of the flavors. The least favorite dish was the onion (though love the caviar!) and the most enjoyable dish was the bao bun or the dessert. This was a business dinner where we had a small hiccup with the payment at the end, causing a really awkward end to the meal. The demeanor of our server had immediately changed so what was an otherwise pleasant evening, ended kind of sour.

11 months agoWe had an incredible anniversary at Valle! So here’s the scoop, we visited a few months back and our experience wasn’t bad, but we left a little underwhelmed. We decided to give it another go, and it completely exceeded expectations! The service was top notch, many of the meals left us speechless, and the overall experience was a solid 10/10. No doubt we will be back again!

a year agoUnique experience! We ordered chef's table. The food was a combination of art and delicacy. The saff and chef were super nice and lovely. The food was amazing. We were impressed by the creativity of the chef. Jesse was a master artist in action! We were memorized by his punctuality and delicate work. Highly recommended for those who enjoy the quality of food and care about what they eat!

a year agoI’ve never written a review the same night as my dining experience. But after seeing some of the other reviews for this establishment, I felt obligated to share my experience while it is fresh in my memory. Tonight’s experience was incredible that checked the boxes for what you would expect from a Michelin star: food, variety, flavor, depth, service, atmosphere. With 8 courses plus some extras in-between, each dish provided a lovely experience with textures and flavors so it didn’t feel like a monotonous mess of gastronomy. Also despite smaller portions, which I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber, I felt the total portion was more than adequate. Service was excellent, friendly, and professional. It was a privilege to be able to visit and to meet the chef in the kitchen at the end of the evening. Do me a favor and don’t listen to the negative reviews. Every experience is yours to dictate and I would happily return to Valle again.
