Great and fast service. The best burger joint in the South. HIGHLY recommend
There is a wait for food but I like them better than Ed's. Carry out only
A must-stop for hot dogs and burgers whenever we go through Whiteville (my wife's home town) which is usually on a Saturday. My advice is go early or go hungry! They close when they run out!
If you are a fan of exploring small towns make a detour to grab a hot dog from Ward's Grill. Steamed buns and pork hot dogs as God intended.
Hamburger all the way (onions, chili, mustard) extra mustard: meat had no flavor. The chili would have given it more flavor but she barely put any chili on it. I said extra mustard... barely any mustard. Same with my hotdog all the way with extra mustard.... too many onions, not enough chili or mustard. I love eating there, but this time wasn't good.
Tried a burger last time I came through Whiteville. More like a meatloaf burger. If you want a much better burger What a burger is a couple of blocks away. They have real meat burgers to die for. Just my humble opinion.
Nice people, the person in front of me didn’t have cash they said just to take the food and bring it back later which was really cool. A couple of weeks ago I came across a best burger in NC post and they were mentioned. Decided to stop today and try the burger, and I’ll give my honest opinion on it. The burger was just “okay.” I’d compare it to a burger your mom would make in the kitchen just round and not really compressed, it had a hint of pink as you can tell they basically drop them on the grill and let them cook. The toppings available were mustard, onions, and chili so they lost some points from me by not having slaw, there was also ketchup on the counter. Overall it’s a decent burger for 4.00 however wouldn’t make a top 10 in NC list for sure!
My grandmom used to take me there as a kid and she took my mom as as a kid too. I was craving a hotdog all da way for months. We drove 6 hours one way to get some. Just like I remembered. 😋
