See All ReviewsSpotted this tucked away restaurant a long time ago & always wanted to go but never stopped until today. My Aunt & Uncle asked where I wanted to go for a birthday meal so I said Wheatberry. Good amount of food for the price, fairly clean, & great staff.
My friend and I went birding in Berrien Springs, and were quite hungry after the hike. I have driven past this place before, and when I Googled "Nearby restaurants," this popped up, so off we went. Service was good. I like the interior, especially with the little paintings on the wall. When I saw that they have Chimichurri Steak, I had to order that to share with my friend! Everything on the plate was great, and they actually cooked it right (Medium rare). Crawfish Etoufee is hard to find in Michigan, and especially Crawfish AND Shrimp Etoufee, so I HAD to try it. No words needed, phenomenal! Finally, dessert, chocolate bread pudding. Yummy!
This was probably my eighth visit and once again, everything was fantastic! They're 8/8. And as for this dish, the "Three Sisters" vegetarian -- it's a wonderful medley of veggies --butternut squash, peppers, onions, beans, and corn all perfectly seasoned with garlic and balsamic served with a side of herbed polenta. No joke, each time I take a bite I find myself saying "mmmmmm!"
