Nice looking dining room, but they only seat people at the bar. When I ordered the brick chicken I didn't expect to receive an actual brick. The chicken was so dry I couldn't finish it.
The food was tasting good until a bit into something crunchy on my bbq pork sliders. On opening and looking at it i found this rounded piece of sharp hard plastic inside of it.
The "new" menu as of August 2025 is the epitome of basic, as far as options. The food quality is mediocre at best, and even for being part of a hotel in San Francisco, it's ridiculously overpriced for the amount of food you get. If you split your bill, make sure you spell it out in crayon, a few times.
The burger was juicy, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor, easily one of the best I’ve had at a hotel restaurant. The fries were crisp and golden, and paired great with a cold beer. What really stood out was the top-notch service, our waiter and bartender were incredibly friendly, attentive, and made the experience feel welcoming and relaxed. Great spot to unwind after a long travel day!
I'm not sure why this place has a low review score of 3.9 at the time of this review, but I was actually impressed. It's rare that I can come to a hotel bar/restaurant and get really good gluten-free dishes. I had the Brick Chicken, and although the chicken was a little over done, the dish as a whole was very good. The wine list looks decent. I had an Old Fashioned and it was done well. I stay at hotels with good bars/restaurants and would stay here again based on my restaurant experience so far.
I wouldn't really suggest the Whitecap if you're looking for a decent meal. It has a limited menu and sub sized portions for the average bear. I ordered the Steak Frites which is literally a few pieces of meat and some Sysco bagged fries topped off with mayonnaise and some ketchup for dipping. I would compare this to get a steak at a concert or the ball game. $40 and its yours! Going going gone...to anywhere else.
Decent place for dinner if you're staying at the hotel, but not something I would go out of my way for. Bartender was able to make my friend's margarita a mocktail, which was appreciated. The breakfast buffet was overpriced and not worth it.
I'm a burger foody and my keto bunless cheddar burger here was as good as some steakhouse burgers I've had. The bartender/server here is fantastic as well. Fantastic place to grab some good or drink. Highly recommend.
