My parents love this place and brag about it. We came for breakfast on a Saturday morning. The food was fresh and hot and delicious. The portion size for what you pay is great. The husband handles the front of the house and his wife is the main cook. She cooks everything fresh- so sit back and relax and come when you have time to sit down and enjoy a meal. You won’t be disappointed!!! I’ve heard their hamburgers are amazing but have not been here for lunch yet. They close at 2pm.
I found this place totally by chance. I was at the pharmacy and had to wait for them to fill my order since I had not eaten breakfast yet. I googled a place to eat breakfast near me and Windy City grill pulled up as being just down the road. Since I like to try new places. I went there. I was impressed with their menu and the abundance of the food. They served their homemade biscuits were absolutely delicious and their meat, i.e. bacon, was quality and plentiful. I ordered their main breakfast dish and also ordered their biscuit that had a slice of fried green tomato pimento cheese and bacon. This was absolutely delicious. I could have ordered two of these and not had the large breakfast but I do like to experience as much as I can from a menu for future personal reference. I did enjoy this breakfast very much and the service from the manager was impeccable and very friendly. However, that being said, I did have a few negative experiences some of their condiments we're not quality. The butter was not butter. It was a vegetable oil that tasted like butter. The grits I ordered with my breakfast instead of hash browns were not to par. I would rate them a one or a two of a scale of 10. I ordered the breakfast dish that included Hawaiian French toast. It was tasty but the bread was very thin and mashed down and way too much powdered sugar on them. I asked the manager what made them Hawaiian and he said because they used Hawaiian bread. LOL I do admit that I probably expected them to be thicker lush with slices or at least chunks of pineapple on them, but I was sorely disappointed. I ate them anyway. Other than the few things I mentioned that I didn't like I would definitely eat there again, but I would probably take my own butter. LOL
Fun breakfast spot. I was looking for a locally owned breakfast restaurant with good food. This place fits the bill! Standard fare, prepared well. I tried fried green tomatoes for ghe first time. Yummy. Biscuits are excellent, too. Lots of regulars, which is always a good sign. Take note: the sign on the building says "WCG Diner". Ample parking.
