Ive have been going here since I moved to Hillsboro 6 years ago. For small town it was doable. That was until about 6 months ago something changed. No flavor and just yuck now. Ive given 3 more tries and we are done! With Panda coming to town you think they would step up their game not digress. We tried. No more.
Stopped by for takeout and was honestly impressed. I ordered the Chicken Lo Mein special with an extra egg roll, and everything hit the mark. The plain fried rice is exactly what it says it is, simple, clean, and not greasy at all. It had a light flavor with a few pieces of egg, and after adding a little soy sauce it was just right. Definitely appreciate that it wasn’t oily like a lot of places. The chicken lo mein was the standout. The noodles were cooked perfectly, not mushy, not dry, just right. The chicken was tender and everything had really good flavor without being overwhelming. The egg rolls were ridiculously crispy, like actually crunchy in the best way. The filling was flavorful, and I’m glad I ordered the extra one because they went quick. It also came with a drink, I got the sweet tea. It leaned a little on the sweeter side but still really good and refreshing. Total came out to $14.81, which is a great deal for the amount and quality of food you get. Solid portions, good flavor, and everything tasted fresh. Definitely a spot I’d come back to.
Food was just okay. I ordered the orange chicken — the chicken itself was fried well and nice and crispy, but the sauce tasted store-bought and was simply poured over the top instead of being cooked together. I tried to upgrade to the house special fried rice but wasn’t allowed to, so I ended up with plain fried rice, which was exactly that — plain, with no vegetables and barely any flavor. I had been looking forward to trying this place, but unfortunately, I won’t be returning. Disappointing experience overall.
Food: House Fried Rice- packed with chicken, beef, and shrimp, but overall, a tad bland so use shoyu. Beef Fried Rice- packed with beef pieces, but overall, a tad bland so use shoyu. Sesame Chicken Special- comes with an egg roll and a drink. Sesame chicken was crunchy and the sauce was good. Wonton Soup- probably the worst dish from my order. Soup was pretty water, 2 small M&M candy sized meatballs wrap with a large amount of wonton wrap. Service: Staff are super friendly and fast. Other: Large parking lot. Lots of tables to dine at. The Mens Restroom was super gross. Probably cleaner outside.
This place was okay, not great. The food was served hot and fresh even though I came at 3pm. The chicken lomien no veggies was normal tasting, nothing to write home about but certainly not bad. The rice was dry and inedible. The egg roll was hot fresh and normal. The cleanliness of the place was weird because it looked clean but if you looked at the door handles they were gross. All in all it was fine and I drive I-35 everyday so I will likely be back.
The ones that left good reviews must have been paid to leave a review. Short and sweet is the food is horrible. Fake as hell. Customer service garbage. Complained about food they didn't even care. Hope to see them out of business soon.
I’ve been coming to this place since I was a freshman at Hill, the College that’s right down the road from this place. Everytime I drive through hillsboro I have to stop here. TRUST me when I say you can’t go wrong with ordering the lo mein (chicken or veggie is what I usually get) The chicken/veg fried rice & of course the sweet & sour chicken. The food is always hot & ready to eat even in the drive thru. 10/10 would recommend!!! Sorry about the photos we had already eaten some of it, portions are quite large! 🤣
Update This place has definitely dropped in flavor and quality. I wouldn't go here anymore. As soon as you walk in you can notice the cleanliness. The staff is friendly. The food is cheap, made fresh and tastes great.
