Absolute tasty Okra soup and jollof rice. The quantity is worth it. Taste absolute best...taste has been constant for years and years. Am i coming back? How about i been coming back since 2015 🤣. I love Yemsade❤️
I ordered Uber Eats and they charged $40 for 2 meat( chicken and Goat) and okra stew combo. I had no problem with the price, but portion did not reflect that. The portion was tiny and there was no goat meat just fat, and the chicken was several days old you can tell it was reheated several times (it was dry and tough). See picture for reference, you can see all the fat they gave me.Sad part is this was just laziness as the food had good flavor. So disappointing
Great service, authentic quality food, great flavor. The staff was friendly and helpful of helping me with what I wanted to order. Great place to get flavorful African food in Arlington/ Grand Prairie area of Dallas. Thank you Edith YOVONIE The YOVONIE Legacy!
I guess I will just have to stick to other local African restaurants after today. I ordered okra soup with fish, although I usually order egusi. I have been coming here for over 2 years, by the way... The size of the container for the okra was literally half the size of the normal container they use (and I literally just came last week). That small container of okra soup was filled up abount 1/6th the height of the container. It was about 6 spoonfuls of okra..... Such a ripoff. I paid $18+ for this and foolishly left a tip before checking my food. The fish they added was not up to par. Today it was several hard, skinny leftover bits instead of the 2 large pieces I am used to. I ended going to Ts Buka for plain okr soup to make up for Yemsades sad dish. It was only $10, and they added free red stew and a freefuture, plus the container was large and full. I have supported Yemsade for 2+ years despite the shop looking unkempt and unsanitary, and despite some of the workers being of questionable character (once a troubled male, who claimed to be the owner's son, kept hitting on me and telling me about his legal troubles until I gave him a fake phone number). You have lost a customer in your greed. Never again.
One of the best places I’ve ever eaten at. Their egusi soup is absolutely top tier. It was so good that I drove two hours from Tyler just to have it. Unfortunately, they were out when I arrived because of how popular it is, which honestly says everything. I still highly recommend this place. Please come and eat here.
First time ordering from here and efo riro is one of my favorite foods. Initially, I would have given this a 3 star because the flavors were good but the proportions were a war crime. ESPECIALLY for the insane prices they charge. They gave me MAYBE 1/4 full small contain of both the efo riro and abula with barely any meat. But then, 2 hours later, I was puking it all up and was thankful that the proportions were so small. Was sick for about 3 hours and will never eat from here again.
I ordered this meal right before my four-hour flight from NYC, after a day packed with back-to-back meetings and no food. I had high expectations—I just wanted something good to eat. But who charges $19 for just a fish head? And on top of that, the pepper soup was completely tasteless. It ruined my appetite for anything else.
First time trying this place and it was bad. The beef must’ve been very old before it was served, far from edible and the same for my daughter’s chicken just not as bad. It was as if the food had been kept for days and then served. Intake fish fins throughout the entire meal but no actual fish. And also order ahead before going it’s not a sit in restaurant boxes are everywhere. We didn’t know this.
