The atmosphere is typical but clean . The food is exceptional except for the rice . It has changed over the years. Best egg drop soup I have ever eaten and the crab Rangoon is excellent
I have to be honest I have been here so many times and I CAN NOT BELIEVE that I haven't written a review!!!💀 My husband and I LOVE coming here. It is not unusual for the two of us to visit for good food almost weekly and to partake of some delicious hot tea.😋 Everyone here is extraordinarily kind and will make sure that you have everything that you need. The food is very good and honestly you get enough that if you eat on the lighter side you have a second meal. My partner and I both greatly enjoy coming here and have NO PLANS to cease anytime soon! I implore you that if you're local and you haven't been here or even if you're just passing through. Trust me!!! This place is worth your time and money!⏱️💲
Very Disappointing Food Quality — Not Worth the Money Would rate 0 stars if I could! I was extremely disappointed with my recent takeout order from Yen Ching House. Unfortunately, nearly every item I received reflected very poor food quality and lack of proper preparation. The crab rangoon contained no noticeable crab at all and had a chewy, reheated texture rather than the light crispiness you expect from freshly fried appetizers. They tasted as if they had been microwaved instead of cooked to order. The shrimp egg foo young was equally underwhelming. Each patty contained only one shrimp, which felt misleading for a dish advertised as shrimp egg foo young. The patties were fragile and fell apart easily, suggesting they were not properly prepared. The gravy was especially concerning — it was an extremely thin, dark liquid with no thickness or richness, which negatively affected the overall flavor of the dish. The fried rice was also overcooked to the point that the grains were mushy and lacked definition. The peas and carrots were soft and lifeless, with no freshness or texture. Overall, the meal felt rushed, low quality, and not reflective of what customers expect when paying for restaurant food. Based on this experience, I would not recommend spending your money here. There are other local restaurants that provide much better food and value. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves food preparation standards.
