We stopped in on our way from Orlando to Tampa. It was so nice to dine in a Thai restaurant with the traditional music playing. The Wonton soup was the best we have ever tasted. The red curry was excellent. Our meal came with brown rice. I liked it but my husband would have preferred the white. The staff was very friendly. We would definitely eat there again.
First time at Zab Thai. I agree the dinners are a bit overpriced but they are in line with other Thai restaurants I have been to in the Orlando area. The portions were huge and we did bring home leftovers. The chicken spring rolls were very good. Fresh ingredients and cooked just right. My Pad Thai was very flavorful and lots of chicken in it. Again the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. I had asked for it Thai Hot but it was not as spicy as other places where I have asked for the level of heat. My son's Raad Naa was good as well. The gravy it was served in was not overpowering. He thought it didn't have much flavor but I thought it had a very nice flavor, just not overwhelming. He asked for mild heat and it was not spicy. Service was pleasant, prompt, and efficient. Came around just frequently enough to make sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant was not busy for a Saturday. I hope it can survive as we need more diversity of the types of cuisines in Clermont. I think I will be more inclined to return for lunch with smaller positions and lower price. But definitely want to return.
The decor of Zab Thai is very eclectic. Is it fine dining, a night spot (with disco ball), a sports or sushi bar? The wait staff have always been friendly and attentive. The menu is a little less eclectic. The best dish I have had here is the green curry, excellent flavors and nice fresh vegetables. The other dishes I have tried so far have been unremarkable. I have not yet tried the sushi bar, but look forward to it soon.
