Chef Mike, the owner and head chef is truly the heart of this place. You can taste the passion and skill in every single dish. Everything is fresh, perfectly seasoned, and cooked with the kind of care that only comes from someone who genuinely loves what they do. What really makes Zaytoon special is Chef Mike himself. He’s not only an incredibly talented chef, he’s also a wonderful host who makes everyone feel welcome. The atmosphere is warm, friendly, and perfect for families, friends, and anyone who enjoys great food and great people. I just had an incredible meal at Zaytoon Mediterranean Restaurant here in Danville and had to share. Everything was so fresh, flavorful, and authentic—the shawarma and hummus are absolute game-changers! The service was super friendly and the portions are huge. If you have not tried Zaytoon yet, stop what you’re doing and go. Immediately. We ordered the chicken shawarma, the beef shawarma, a Greek salad, and hummus — and every single bite was incredible. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and tender, the beef was rich and flavorful, and both were wrapped and plated beautifully. You can tell everything is made fresh. The Greek salad was crisp and vibrant with the perfect balance of acidity and freshness, and the hummus? Creamy, smooth, and honestly some of the best I’ve had. It tasted authentic, not mass-produced. The flavors were bold without being overwhelming just perfectly balanced Mediterranean comfort food. You can taste the quality and care in every dish. We will absolutely be back. This place is a gem, and our town is lucky to have it. If you haven’t tried Zaytoon yet, you are seriously missing out.
