Went there for lunch first time going to this place and thought it was going to be great but I was in for a rude awakening I ordered Turkey wings and my friend ordered the same thing My Turkey wings was dried out my macaroni and cheese was salty and Just noodles. My candy yams was out of the cane and the lady was very, very rude And made it seem like she had somewhere to go she was rushing me to order and I told her i have never been there before and she did not make me feel comfortable Didn't offer water or anything to drink I had to ask her 3 times for water before I got it and when I did receive my water, she did not ask did I want a refill or anything. and when I did receive it i try to support black businesses, but this is one I will not recommend SMH never again wish I could give them no stars.
From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is relaxing and smooth. There is r and b jazz hits playing in the background...but still with a conversation able to be held. Food hot and prepared to order. A vast array of soulful favorites...plus desserts that are appealing as well as delicious. Staff friendly accommodating and attentive. Place is packed and I see why. Hidden gem for me. Military discount honored on Thursdays Live band for holiday events 8 years in business dining side...10 years bakery side. Go early....place gets full quickly.
My first time here and the food is outstanding as well as the atmosphere. They had a live band and the music was great.
Truly amazing place to have breakfast lunch or dinner. Janice my waitress did an outstanding job. Her customer service was truly amazing. She took care of us and made sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant is very clean and the atmosphere is am amazing atmosphere.
We had such a great experience! The food was absolutely amazing—everything was fresh, flavorful, and made really well. Our server, Janice, took the whole visit to the next level. She was warm, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. If you visit, definitely ask for Janice—you won’t be disappointed!
My husband and I LOVE Annie Lee’s!!! Every time we dine here the food is ALWAYS excellent!!! We have received consistent deliciousness, kudos to the chef and cooking staff!!! Today, we had the absolute privilege of visiting Annie Lee’s Bakery and Diner as part of the Buy Black Business Bus Tour with the Melanin Market, and let me tell you—it was like being personally escorted into foodie heaven. From start to finish, this place delivered an experience so good it could probably write its own autobiography. Let’s talk about my husband’s order first: Oxtails. Now, these aren’t even on the Saturday menu, but Jacob, our waiter (and now honorary family member), worked his magic and made it happen. If that’s not next-level customer service, I don’t know what is. He paired those oxtails with collard greens and sweet potatoes, and trust me, they were so good they practically demanded a standing ovation. I went the veggie route with collard greens, rice and gravy, a side salad, and yams—but because I don’t play around when it comes to food, I added grilled shrimp. Every single item on our plates was seasoned with so much love and skill that my taste buds were basically doing the electric slide by the end. And the desserts? Oh, we weren’t leaving without cake. Key Lime and Yellow Cake joined the party, but then the staff really outdid themselves. Someone casually dropped that it was our 21st wedding anniversary (thanks for snitching, Jacob!), and the staff surprised us with a song, more cake, and ice cream. I almost started bawling right there in the middle of the diner. Like, ugly cry bawling. Long story short, the food is a masterpiece, but the staff? They’re what makes Annie Lee’s truly special. I’d give them 10 stars if I could. I’ll definitely be back for more—and not just for the food, but to hang out with the kind of people who make you feel like family from the moment you walk in. Annie Lee’s, you’ve got my heart (and probably most of my paycheck).
I recently got a cake made from this bakery and was totally swindled. Wanted a cake for my bestfriend birthday and was explained to merchant. I let her know what I was trying to get and let her know when I needed it by. The cake was order late but she did say she would able to complete the cake. I got referred to her. The young lady she will give me half of the money back but never gave me a response after. If you use her please understand you may not get what you want and will basically blame on you why the cake does not last. Had this cake less than 12 hours before it started to fall apart. I pick cake up the day around 3:00 pm before her birthday. By the time I was decorating her room the cake started to fall apart. I text her she no response at all. The cake was supposed to burn and also did not. Truly dissatisfied and disappointed. Worst experience ever. I do not recommend at all. She is very nice but not reliable. 200 for a cake the was not what you wanted is crazy. We could not eat it and was supposed be double chocolate but had white frosting when it should have chocolate.
