See All ReviewsWow… what an experience. At first, everything seems promising. You’re greeted with a smile, and they happily take your order with plenty of enthusiasm. It gives you the impression you’re about to have a great meal. Unfortunately, that’s where the good part ends. You grab your drinks, take a quick look at the receipt, and the disappointment begins. A 15% gratuity has been automatically added at a BBQ bus—with no mention, no warning, nothing. And just to be clear, this was for two grown adults ordering at a window, who drop cash in a tip jar! Then the food finally comes out, and things really start to fall apart. The BBQ itself was dry and lacking flavor, which is already a letdown. To make matters worse, the portions were skimpy for a $20 plate. When you’re paying that much, you expect a plate that at least feels worth it. The potato “mustard” salad was completely overpowered by mustard. Every bite was so strong it was hard to tell if the potatoes were coated in it or practically swimming in it. And the mac and cheese—something you’d think any BBQ spot would absolutely nail—was a huge miss. It tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for a day straight, like something you’d find spinning next to a gas station hotdog roller. Overall, what started with a friendly greeting ended in a pretty disappointing experience. Definitely not the BBQ stop we were hoping for.
Barefoot BBQ in Seaside is one of those places that reminds you why people fall in love with 30A in the first place. Laid back, welcoming, and full of flavor, it delivers an authentic coastal barbecue experience right in the heart of Seaside. The smell alone pulls you in, and once you’re there, it only gets better. The barbecue is outstanding across the board. Tender smoked meats, rich sauces, and portions that hit the spot whether you’re coming straight from the beach or settling in for a relaxed dinner. But the real standout, without exaggeration, is the Bushwhacker. Hands down the best Bushwhacker I have ever had anywhere. Perfectly blended, smooth, and dangerously good. It is worth the stop all by itself. The outdoor seating and Seaside location make it a must visit for both locals and visitors. As a broker with Sotheby’s, this is exactly the kind of local spot I love pointing out. Places like Barefoot BBQ are part of what makes Seaside so special. If you are looking for great barbecue in Seaside, an unforgettable Bushwhacker, and a true 30A local experience, Barefoot BBQ absolutely delivers. Highly recommended.
Customer service was wonderful. Ladies were so friendly! I’m from KC and I can say the food here is quality BBQ! Sauces were great too. Will come back.
