6 years agoFood was great and view was great.. and that was it. Got up to get my own silverware, waters, had to ask other waiters for service. Brought us the wrong receipt (we thought they discounted for poor service, nope.) and then lost our credit card. Food took a while to come but didn’t mind because it’s such a beautiful view. Another table near us left because of the bad service and the table behind us complained loudly. Not quite sure if it was a staffing issue or a specific person. We’re pretty laid back and don’t expect much but never had service quite this bad.

6 years agoGreat Oceanfront view. Request patio table instead of sitting inside. Located inside Wyndham Hotel. Breakfast, Lunch snd Dinner served. Large menu with Italian slant.

7 years agoI had read about this restaurant years ago when it was opened by the BICE group. Now I understand it is now owned by the Wynham hotel where it is located. We were staying in a hotel down the street and decide to try Cafe Med. There were having a wedding inside so we sat on patio. Started with a complementary bread with 3 dips, kalamata olive, chimichurri , and roasted red pepper. For appetizer, I had a burrata with Prosciutto, tomato, and arugula. I twas very good. For mains, i ordered the Spaghetti alla Diavola, Baby Octopus, Little Neck Clams, Mussels, Calamari & Shrimp, and Marinara Sauce over spaghetti. Unfortunately it came out without any shrimp or octopus which they brought out .Just fair. My wife ordered the Chicken Vesuvio,Chicago Style Bone in Chicken Baked with Garlic, Rosemary, Lemon, Fresh Peas & Roasted Potatoes. She was told it was white meat which it wasn't. So they brought out white meat chicken, also just fair.

7 years agoThe pasta was AMAZING. The veal was good but nothing too wow. And the dessert was really good as well. The portions were pretty big and the prices, even though a bit pricy, weren’t as bad as some other places. Service was very good as well and you can’t beat the location. Will definitely stop by again next time we’re in town.

Edited 7 years agoWe had a party of six that ate breakfast at Cafe Med, on certain days the cross wind in the restaurant is ridiculous due to the ocean breeze and their fans. The service was not that good. I ordered the sunrise and my eggs and potato’s came out cold, my wife ordered a bottle of pelagrino water that took twenty minutes because they had to go across the street for it, and my wife never received her correct toast. But the manager was nice enough to take 25% off our bill.

8 years agoMy sister and I arrived for breakfast at 10am on a Wednesday morning. Cafe Med is the only restaurant in the area that is open before 11 am. The interior is contemporary with soft lighting. There is indoor and outdoor seething. The seats are a little narrow for wider people. The outdoor seating faces the West street where you can view people walking around and other businesses. There are 4-5 tables that face the beach on the eastern side of the restaurant. Those tables fill up quickly. My sister and I sat at the bar for a quick breakfast. They bartender, a brunette woman, made me feel rushed to order and leave. She proceeded to gossip with one of the other guest for my 49 minutes meal. There were no offers of refills on our coffee or water. The food was decently priced and filling. The portion sizes were decent. The food tasted pretty good. I give the restaurant 3 stars due to the service and location. If the service was better and if the restaurant faced the beach more I would give the location 5 stars.

8 years agoCacio e Pepe was great and the chef was very friendly while cooking. Our server was very personable and knowledgeable. Tables bread and dips were delicious. Unfortunately 2 of the 4 dishes at our table had shrimp that was overcooked. A little disorganized at the beginning when being seated. Credit card was declined even though it had been accepted all day and bank later told me it was user error. Overall a little pricey for what it was.
