They have no liquor license but have liquor! But they were serving what ever they had left. Strange. The owner was away on vacation leaving the staff short staffed. Our host, was our server and dishwasher. He also couldn't find the bartender that said she didn't know how to bartend when we arrived. So maybe she walked out. The cook was the chef, sou chef, and the dishwasher also! I applaud the staff for all their hard work. But who ever runs that place needs fired nor neglect! Now the good part. The food was absolutely amazing. From the steak to the salmon! Kiddos to the chef!!! Food was fantastic.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at Catch 12 was incredibly disappointing — especially for a restaurant that presents itself as upscale. We had a 7:45 reservation and still waited 30 minutes to be seated. What’s the point of making a reservation if it isn’t honored? Once seated, things didn’t improve. The hostess brought water to the table, but when we asked for sparkling water, she literally poured the still water back into the pitcher. That alone was off-putting and frankly unsanitary. We were given two menus — the regular menu and a Valentine’s Day menu — and ordered an appetizer from each. When the appetizers arrived, we were suddenly told that our entrées had to come from the same menu as the appetizer we selected. This was never explained beforehand. Since I don’t eat any of the meats offered on the Valentine’s menu, we decided to cancel that appetizer — and instead of simply allowing us to pay for it and keep it, the server took it back and discarded it. Completely unnecessary and wasteful. The service continued downhill. Our drinks were incorrect, and when we pointed it out, the server blamed it on not usually working the night shift. That’s not an acceptable excuse. As for the food: I ordered lamb chops medium rare. They came out well done. The mashed potatoes were dry and pasty — tasted like boxed mashed potatoes. That is unacceptable for a restaurant that markets itself as upscale dining. Overall, the experience was sub-par at best. Between the long wait despite a reservation, confusing menu policies, poor service, and poorly executed food, it was very disappointing. I expected much more from Catch 12.
I ordered the 12oz pork chop at 8pm It arrived 90 minutes later, per the server, delayed due to the thickness of the porkchop. The pork chop & mashed potatoes were delicious. Never got the spicy applesauce. The temperature might've been low 60's upper 50's at Catch 12.
We were staying at the 12 downtown for a conference and decided to dine at Catch 12. Great atmosphere, the area is clean, great lighting and good service. The chef came by and introduced the food. We both had the new items on the menu - the salmon with rice and the ahi steak and both were amazing! We really enjoyed the food after a long day of travel and the taste definitely made our day better.
Had such a great experience!! Karla was so nice and attentive. She made sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. I was dining alone so I appreciated that she gave me enough attention, not overbearing in any way. The drink was especially delicious. The food was good too. They have an open kitchen so you can see the team at work. The music + drink= a vibe!!
Stayed at the 12 and out of all the restaurants nearby this one was the closest obviously. The food was so so good we ate here 4 times within our 3 night weekend. All the reviews complain about the lack of ingredients but, the substitutes have to be 10 times better… Asked for a key lime pie and they were out so I asked what else they had and they brought out the tastiest apple and peach pie… All the substitutions are great and they’re there you just have to ask! The waffles and french toast were so soft and fluffy and the food was served hot and fresh. The chicken from the chicken and waffles had to be the juiciest chicken I’d had. The fruit looked fresh and tasted great and the chicken sausage was delicious. The 12 Burger was amazing it was super juicy and the onions and bacon were cooked well. The fries were probably the best we had all weekend. They were out of crab dip but the artichoke dip was so yummy. The staff is lovely and friendly. They were so sweet and attentive.
Had wanted to try this place for a while now. Finally took a date here on NYE, walked in and was greeted by a friendly host who told us to sit anywhere we like. Immediately I noticed the louder-than-expected rap music coming from the restaurant speakers overhead. I listen to all kinds of music, including rap, however the restaurant was beautiful on the inside and comes off as a casual fine dining establishment. The rap music just didn't fit. We sat at a table and must have been under a speaker, because it just seemed loud. It would have been difficult to maintain a casual conversation at the table, it was so loud. Also, the music was straight unedited trap music. Nothing says a romantic high end meal like the F-bomb and other colorful language being played throughout the entire place. We quickly changed seats to sit at the counter where we could watch the kitchen and that was perfect. There was no speaker overhead, the kitchen staff engaged with us, and immediately I felt better about the night. The server, Paris, was absolutely wonderful. Super friendly and fast, all smiles, and helpful. The food was cooked to absolute perfection. I had the salmon and it was perfectly tender, juicy, and flaked easily with the pull of the fork. My date had the lamb special and it, too, was just perfectly seasoned and cooked. We were so happy with the food and service and it ended up being a great night. I just wouldn't suggest taking a date or a business meal there as the music was just too much.
Very good food. I've eaten here twice this weekend and everything was great, one dine in and one take away. Be aware that it's a little pricey and there aren't any physical menus. You'll have to view the menu on your phone, I thought that was odd. Server was nice but absent at times but the food was on point. I would come back no doubt.
