I absolutely love that in the USA you can still find a waterfront restaurant with a little personality. This place has a couple of cats that live around the property — they’re not bothering anyone, just quietly doing their thing. If you call them over, they might wander down and sit by your feet like unofficial members of the staff. Now before the usual American professional complainers jump in about “cats at a restaurant,” let me say this: as a former restaurant owner — including one on the water — I know exactly why smart restaurants keep a couple of well-cared-for cats around. They help keep away the animals you really don’t want near a restaurant. It’s an old and practical practice used around the world. These cats were clearly well cared for and spayed, and they added charm to the whole evening. I actually called the evening manager Walter over just to give him a compliment. I’m sure he spends plenty of time dealing with the normal consumer complaints that come with running a restaurant, and then when something unique is added people find even more to complain about. So I wanted to make sure he heard a positive comment — because this customer absolutely enjoyed the cats and the atmosphere they add. The food was great, the drinks were excellent, the waterfront view was beautiful, and the music was sublime. And I definitely can’t forget our wonderful waitress, Stefanie, who was friendly, attentive, and made the entire evening even better. Great atmosphere, great service, great management — and a couple of furry security guards keeping the waterfront in order. We’ll absolutely be back.
This was the most amazing atmosphere. My friends celebrate a decent amount of birthdays here and I never get the chance to attend up until yesterday (on a Saturday) There was about 20 of us and the service was great. Hayley was awesome taking care of us all. I see why my pals love going to this place. Live music was outstanding as well had us all dancing. It was an all around amazing night. A little pricey but a dinner like that has no price tag.
Tampa Bay Food Tours enjoyed a beautiful waterfront lunch at Catches Waterfront Grille in Port Richey 🌊 A local staple for 35 years, this longtime favorite offers prime water views, boat docks, and the perfect setting to relax and soak in the Florida lifestyle. Whether you arrive by car or by boat, the laid-back waterfront vibe delivers every time. The menu truly has something for everyone — starters, handhelds, salads, entrées, bowls, tacos, and even a full dinner menu available at lunch. They also offer an $8 kids' menu, making it a great family-friendly option. And no worries for the land lovers — they feature a dedicated “land lubbers” menu too. We enjoyed the blackened grouper, an amazing shrimp po’ boy, and a fresh salad topped with blackened shrimp — all with a sunny view of the river inlet and docks. ☀️ Right next door is Rum River Tiki Bar, a fun outdoor bar & grill serving up great cocktails and daily specials — the perfect spot to continue your waterfront afternoon. 🍹 Come for the views and stay for the food. And tell them Tampa Bay Food Tours sent you!
First visit on Friday, February 27, 2026. I ordered the stuffed flounder entree' (as did my other two dining companions) and it was excellent and delicious. And I was pleased that I could substitute corn on the cob for green beans as my vegetable. Our server was attentive and wonderful. My only complaint is the small portion of rice that came with the meal; I wanted more for the $28 meal price. I also didn't like the high drink prices. Prices were not even listed on the drink menu! I ordered a white sangria with my meal. I expected the drink to be about $7 but it was $12! The total bill plus tip was a little bit higher than I expected or wanted to pay tonight. I'm glad I brought cash so I didn't have to pay the 3% credit card surcharge. However, all-in-all, it was a very pleasant dining experience.
I had a great friend come into town and visit her for their birthday and I took them there and we had such a wonderful time…. The view is absolutely amazing.
We went for a late dinner for VDay. We started with the tiki shrimp and calamari and some cocktails. Very generous portions on the apps. The shrimp was really good, the calamari was ok, a bit on the soggy chewy side but still ok. The drinks are so yummy. For entrees, I got the captains platter blackened and my husband got the stuffed flounder. I loved the scallops, the founder and some of the shrimp. The crab cake has to much filler and not enough crap. I had 2 shrimp left and took a bite and had to spit it out, it was definitely a bad shrimp and couldn’t finish the last one. I also wish there was more rice (maybe 1/4 cup on the plate) than green beans ( over a cup) My husbands flounder came out cold but he ate it. Overall we had a nice time and will definitely return one afternoon to sit outside and try other things.
So I have to start this review by saying the food is AMAZING the service is excellent and it’s only mildly loud (small road) I had the burger and tea and it was easily one of the BEST burgers I’ve ever eaten I would 100% recommend eating here! This place definitely deserves 5 stars (I don’t often leave 5 star reviews)
Excellent service, very friendly and attentive server. Had the rainbow trout with roasted potatoes. It was very delicious. Wonderful atmosphere with the view of the water. Would definitely come back.
