See All Reviewsdecided to spend my birthday here. i’m experienced with nice, fancy restaurants and in lincoln it’s not easy to find these. i wanted to bring my own cake - because i wasn’t a fan of dish’s dessert menu and i wanted to make cute pics with candles. but i ended up paying 25$ fee for a plate, that wasn’t very nice:) There is no info about it and when i texted on insta they said i can bring it. And i truly believe that 25$ is way too much for this fee. we also came a little bit earlier than it opens, and hostess saw us (there were also 4 people who were waiting), but they opened their doors at 5. and i feel like you could let people wait inside….. also they didn’t offer me a free dessert for my bday and no discounts either. food part. this is “modern american cuisine” and yes, this is way better that typical american food, but way too overpriced. brusketta was fat and salty, orange combination wasn’t a good mix. burrata tasted like glue. fried chicken - really nothing special, canes have the same one lol. pork with plum was mid. cocktails… terrible, barry’s mixes vodka with red bull better. i got sour apple and it tasted like the cheapest vodka mixed with the juice from the gas station. my friend got cucumber martini and it tasted pretty bad too. the waitress was really nice tho. i would not write this review even tho i wasn’t a fan of food, if they didn’t ask me pay extra fee for birthday cake… but unfortunately my experience wasn’t good enough for these prices. i really think Dish has good reviews because it’s a local place + they don’t have competitors in lincoln.
I would consider myself a harsh critic and a little hard to please when it comes to high end dining. With that being said, this is the best restaurant in Lincoln if you’re wanting a high end dining experience. Our waitress was super helpful at making recommendations and was super attentive. The food all tasted fresh and I appreciated how much detail went into every dish. This is a great spot for special occasions.
Delicious food. Unique menu. Portions were huge. Beets in particular were a favorite. Fine dining food but casual atmosphere. We had a 15 month old and they provided a high chair. Appetizers , entrees and desserts were all fantastic. Only complaint was that the old fashioned mocktail was $10 and served in the same portion size of a regular old fashioned with only half glass full. Delicious and flavorful drink but $$
