Love this place, stopped in during the afternoon. The Mexican street corn was delicious. We got a the Katana sushi platter and Tex mex lomein noodles. Then for dessert got the Dulce de leche treat !! Loved all the food, came out super tasty and yummy.
Found this absolute gem while traveling and can't believe it wasn't mobbed when we walked in. Apparently it's only been open a few months and word hasn't gotten around yet but when it does you'll be sorry if you didn't go before it's booked solid. Gourmet sushi rolls were delicious, Birria egg rolls amazing, Birria sushi roll Absolutely mind blowing. Great cocktails, great service, only thing missing was more people enjoying their food to make the atmosphere perfect. Spoke with one of the owners and you could feel his passion for feeding people amazing quality and authentic food while also taking the best of 2 amazing food cultures and fusing them into dishes that are new, fun, and uniquely delicious. Looking forward to regularly coming back here even though it's over an hour away.
We went at 1:30 in the afternoon on a Friday. Place was empty. So I knew we would be served quickly. The waitress acknowledged us, sat us down and handed us 2 menus. We placed our drink orders. I ordered a Yuzu lemonade hubby ordered a Samuri margarita. The lemonade was very sour and very acidic. I couldn't drink it. The margarita was also sour. I went to the bar requesting sugar and she immediately asked if the lemonade was too acidic for me. So she knew. We looked over the menu and when we showed her what we wanted off the specials menu she said" oh you can't order from this menu because it's only for the bar" My 1st thought was ok then why give it to me at table seating? We looked over the menu and the pricing ranged from $3-180. I felt that was huge gap in pricing. We order our lunch and didn't wait long before it arrived. The Hairy Mexican roll was delicious. The Bang bang roll very good. The Mexican street corn was sour, the wings were sour and the rice was greasy. I feel that we had too many sour components in our dishes/drinks. Overall I don't know if I would visit again. I was very excited when I learned about this place. You decide.
Great place to go an eat a great meal, very nice food fusion. I really recommend Katanas to any sushi enthusiast and to any who wants to have a nice time and awesome food.
I wanted to try Katanas as I love sushi, so I decided to give it shot, and I was blown away by the food. I had the spicy tuna and Mexican sushi, which were absolutely delicious 😋. Also, I had the Birria egg rolls and they were insanely amazing. The atmosphere is open and welcoming. I’d highly recommend 100%.
Came here on a Saturday (I think their first one open) and it was a mess - wholly understaffed. The food looked amazing though. We ended up leaving. So we decided to come back during the week and it was MUCH better. Sat at the bar, and the bartender said it was her first day in the restaurant. She couldn’t have been nicer. Her margarita skills are great! Ordered an app of lobster tom yum soup, I ordered sushi and my husband ordered the sweet & spicy chicken. So their timing was off, and the sushi came out first. No biggie, as the other two dishes came out shortly after. Soup was DELICIOUS! Big chunks of lobster, and had a good zip to it. Sushi (Kaiji and spicy salmon rolls) were fresh and very good. Spicy chicken was large pieces of chicken, lightly breaded w a great sauce. All in all, very impressed. We’ll definitely return!
Food was really delicious. The combination of Mexican and Japanese ingredients gives you and new great taste. If you love trying new combinarion of ingredients. This is a great place to go. Although the service was slow, but it is understandable because they just open couple days ago. But we planing to go again to try other different dishes.
From the staff to the food, we were left IMPRESSED. This place is amazing & we will definitely be returning. Thank you, Katanas!!!
