4 months agoWe came in right before closing and the host was gracious and reassuring, she ushered us to stay and order anyway. To be fair, Google says the close at 10pm, but their door says the right time of 9pm. Either way, the food was made fresh and clearly with soul and love. The portions are generous and the atmosphere is relaxed and Ethiopian without being over the top or something it's not. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, and the meals that came from leftovers and I absolutely will be returning as a regular.

5 months agoI love coming here. Their food and service is top notch. I love the coffee ceremony too. If you are in Houston and want to try a good Ethiopian place Kenna is the right spot.

5 months agoKena Cafe never missed with their Kitfo, Shiro, Shefinfin, and Awaze Tibs. Every dish was flavorful, comforting, and tasted like it was made with real care. Simple, authentic, and unforgettable. They have also a unique taste Sambusa and coffee for breakfast, among other varieties of food.

a year agoI've enjoyed international cuisine in many countries. Finding consistently high-quality dining experiences can be a challenge in some regions. Texas, in my experience, presents such a challenge. While there are certainly exceptions, discovering truly exceptional restaurants requires more effort. I personally would recommend visiting this restaurant for out of this world Ethiopian coffee, food, and hospitality. I hope to be back very soon with new friends so they can enjoy your great Ethiopian food to.

2 years agoEveytime we come to this place we feel right at home. Very welcoming service. The food is never disappointing. The owner has amazing talent with evert meal that comes to your table. Always ready to attend to the customer’s needs. Whether you’re a lover to Ethiopian food or wanting to try something different, go to Kenna Cafe. You will not be disappointed.

2 years agoEnjoyed the food from Kenna. The injera is not as sour as other injeras I’ve had. Very good, comes down to a personal preference. Kenna includes tables for eating as well as a small shop front to purchases spices and other traditional ware and needs. Many Vegan / vegetarian options exist

2 years agoYum, so yum!! I have been in here my first time and now and I love walking in because it just smells so amazing!! And the staff, always so friendly and patient with my indecision and questions. The food is so good, as good as it smells for sure. If I worked or lived here I'd be in all the time! Today I had Etiopía food and just wow, I'm so full now! This place is great, highly recommend to any, fan of Etiopía food or not (I tend not to be a fan). The young Regasa her sister is so cute. I will be there again ASAP. Because the food is so amazing and the Caffe I can not explain I don’t have words is More than a was expected thanks ♥️REGASA 🤗and your family to good wishes for your life and family.

4 years agoA small hole-in-the-wall cafe (about 5-6 small tables) with great tasting food! They did not have a set menu, the options were a vegetarian platter, lamb and beef. We got one of each, and the non-vegetarians in our group really enjoyed the taste of the lamb and beef! All 3 dishes were served with injera flatbread. The veggie platter had 3 kinds of lentils (all were tasty), fresh greens, potatoes and carrots, and a cooked leafy green (not spinach, maybe chard?). The cafe had one television which played really loud Ethiopian music, and the service was not prompt but it was polite; overall we enjoyed the experience. The owner was back in the cafe towards the end of our meal and he was attentive.
