I really did have high hopes for this location, especially after reading all the good reviews. I ordered the brisket sandwich, with extra meat+$3.00 and asked for it to be sliced and a moist cut. The sandwich I received was shredded brisket with extremely dry, and hard day old brisket mix together. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. It was an extremely poor quality sandwich. And example of barbecue. I definitely will not be back and definitely do not recommend.
It was our first time at One's BBQ in Lavon, TX and the brisket was moist and not over smoky tasting, just the way I like it. The smoked sausage with cheese was really good as well. Heck, It all was! The owner was very nice, and the outdoor seating was clean and cute! Oh, don’t forget the homemade sweet cornbread!! We will be back!! Grab some on your way home from work, you'll be glad you did!
There’s something honest about eating BBQ by the side of the road — no pretension, no theatre — just smoke, fire, and heart. One’s BBQ delivered exactly that. This is true mum-and-pop barbecue. Alfresco. Simple tables. Smoke in the air. It feels less like a transaction and more like you’ve been invited over for a family cook-up. The Brisket Moist. Tender. Properly rendered. Smoked over pecan wood, and you can genuinely taste it — that subtle sweetness layered into every bite. The bark had structure without overpowering the meat, and the fat was beautifully integrated. This wasn’t rushed BBQ. It was patient BBQ. The Pork Ribs Seasoned to perfection with a deep, confident bark. The rub complemented the smoke rather than fighting it. You bite in, and it pulls clean — exactly how ribs should behave. The Sauce House-made and balanced. Sweet, tangy, just enough heat. It enhanced the meat rather than masking it — which tells you everything about their confidence in the product. The Side Classic potato salad. Creamy, comforting, and exactly what you want next to proper smoked meat. This is the kind of place that reminds you why BBQ matters. It’s not about scale. It’s not about hype. It’s about craft, patience, and love. A wonderful experience. I’ll be back.
Spent 70 bucks here today because of reviews. Was exited to try it but very disappointed. The ribs were too tough and overly cooked so we ended up throwing them away. The taste was OK but just too tough. There also needs to be some kind of procedure to keep flies and bugs away from the food. The potato salad was packed with mustard and the beans are very bland. The best part of the meal was sadly the cornbread, which was very good. Very disappointing experience
My first time today and I love it.The brisket is comparable to high end BBQ joints. It's moist and flavorful that I didn't touch the BBQ sauce on the side. The rib is also good. The charro beans is so yummy, same with the potato salad. I love the cornbread as well.
Great experience, the BBQ is priced perfect and is good. They rely on smoke as the primary seasoning, which is a great change up. Excellent and friendly service.
Each time I go I must have that brisket sandwich it is ssssssooooo delicious from start to finish now let me tell you about those ribs they fall off the bone melt in your mouth good the customer service is always A1 it’s a true hidden gem and you will leave satisfied every time can’t wait until it warms up so I can enjoy the sitting area out front because the food be so good I can never make it off the parking lot before I’ve ate it all MAY I ADD YOU CAN EAT THEM WITH OR WITHOUT SAUCE AND THEY ARE GGGGGTTTTRRRREEEEEAAAATTTT EITHER WAY
Flavor is on point. Loving the ribs not salty at all. Brisket is very moist and tender. We will definitely be getting more.
