3 months agoLast week I visited Pauly's BBQ for the first time. We were promptly greeted and the service was great. The beef brisket, pulled pork nacho's, and fried pickles were excellent. Price's are reasonable for the sizeable portions. Would recommend to any BBQ fans visiting Arthur Illinois.

4 months agoI had a great late lunch today. The place is small and today I counted 9 workers there today. But, I couldn't even get my waitress to return to refill my water. They need to work on service rather than mingling and socializing behind the counter.

6 months agoI usually love this place and they have delicious food, but we ate there today and I was with my elderly parents that don’t eat that much. When we ordered our food my parents said they were sharing a meal and the very kind waitress asked if we would like an extra plate and I say yes that would be great. So we ate and received our bill and they charged us 1.50 for the extra plate. I ask our kind waitress if that charge was because they shared a meal and she said no it’s because you used the extra plate. I was stunned I’m like really?? I think that’s completely taking advantage of people and I was totally angry. I didn’t say anything else but,I’m not sure I’ll be back and if I do I’ll not ask for a plate if I’m going to share lol. How ridiculous

6 months agoQuite a small restaurant with lots of flavor! We waited 20 minutes for seating for 5 people. Not a long wait at all. We were seated, waitress was very kind, already knew what we were ordering, placed our ordered. 45 minutes still waiting for our food. We’re all human people make mistakes, our order was accidentally never placed. Over all the small hog trough was absolutely stellar. We appreciated the discount. I would give them a second and maybe 3rd chance 🤪

a year agoWe got their food for a Christmas meal at work, which we also did last year. It tasted great both times. There was pulled pork, potatoes, green beans, cornbread, and brownies. My favorite would probably be the pulled pork. Just make sure to put barbecue sauce on it. We had a few sauce options and I prefer the regular. The people who brought the food to us were very friendly. Definitely a good choice to get food from there.

a year agoAmazing food and environment. We had ribs, brisket, chicken, and pulled pork. All the different meats were so tender and tasty. The price was fabulous, you can bit that place. We’ll definitely return when we visit Arthur’s town next time. We were in Decatur and was like 30 min drive, so worth it.

Edited 2 years agoFirst time here. We enjoyed our meal. Beef brisket was as good as I have tasted anywhere. Fried green beans were excellent. French fries were more like steak fries. We arrived at 11:00 AM and the place was full when we finished.

4 years agoMy first experience and it won’t be my last. Eating solo was a challenge when I realized there was no seating inside, however the option to order to go was attractive. Turned out to be a great decision with outdoor seating under a glorious sun. Took my leftovers home to my dad who also enjoyed the smoked turkey, super yummy beans, very unique and delicious potatoes . We both agreed the best cornbread ever!!
