Expensive, not good, tea terrible, I had fish and fries , wife had spaghetti. Both were terrible. Took forever to get waited on and forever to get the food and getting the check took about as long and they weren't even busy. With all the places to eat close to them, PICK SOMETHING ELSE!!!!
My family has dined here on multiple occasions. Our neighbors told us how much they liked it, so we finally gave it a try and have gone there multiple times since. It has a mom and pop type feel, comfortable seating with tables and booths. A lot of locals seem to enjoy going, as well. The food is always on point and the coffee is surprisingly good, too, although I wouldn't go if I was in a hurry. Prices are very reasonable. We've had the same server each time. Last time, we all ordered their breakfast bowls, which come with breakfast meat (sausage patties cut up and/or bacon), eggs to your liking, grits or hash browns, cheese, toast or biscuit, and a white breakfast gravy. They're delicious! We've tried other things, as well. Hubby has tried an omelet, although we haven't had their lunch food. Food is always solid taste wise. Last time we went, I was hoping to substitute the sausage patties in my breakfast bowl for the smoked sausage they have (hardly any place serves the smoked sausage these days). The server stated there would be a $6 upcharge, which is nearly 50% of the meal and many dollars more than a simple side of smoked sausage. I was so shocked that I didn't consider in the moment the possibility of just getting a side of smoked sausage, cutting it up myself, and adding it to my bowl when our food was brought. All in all, Phat Daddy's is a solid local choice for breakfast/lunch comfort food. The weirdness about the smoked sausage was probably a one off. Ee haven't hsd s chagce to visit since. The food is fantastic, if slow to come out, and the coffee is decent. If you use Splenda, though, BYO. Service besides that one hiccup has been wonderful. There's a great feeling to the place that is warm and comforting. We're definitely fans and are thinking about making this our once a month go-to breakfast place on Sundays. I'd call it a hidden gem, for sure!
