Love love this sweet little spot!! Food is delicious, friendly staff, great atmosphere!! If you have not been here you are missing out!!
Expensive, not good, tea terrible, I had fish and fries , wife had spaghetti. Both were terrible. Took forever to get waited on and forever to get the food and getting the check took about as long and they weren't even busy. With all the places to eat close to them, PICK SOMETHING ELSE!!!!
My family has dined here on multiple occasions. Our neighbors told us how much they liked it, so we finally gave it a try and have gone there multiple times since. It has a mom and pop type feel, comfortable seating with tables and booths. A lot of locals seem to enjoy going, as well. The food is always on point and the coffee is surprisingly good, too, although I wouldn't go if I was in a hurry. Prices are very reasonable. We've had the same server each time. Last time, we all ordered their breakfast bowls, which come with breakfast meat (sausage patties cut up and/or bacon), eggs to your liking, grits or hash browns, cheese, toast or biscuit, and a white breakfast gravy. They're delicious! We've tried other things, as well. Hubby has tried an omelet, although we haven't had their lunch food. Food is always solid taste wise. Last time we went, I was hoping to substitute the sausage patties in my breakfast bowl for the smoked sausage they have (hardly any place serves the smoked sausage these days). The server stated there would be a $6 upcharge, which is nearly 50% of the meal and many dollars more than a simple side of smoked sausage. I was so shocked that I didn't consider in the moment the possibility of just getting a side of smoked sausage, cutting it up myself, and adding it to my bowl when our food was brought. All in all, Phat Daddy's is a solid local choice for breakfast/lunch comfort food. The weirdness about the smoked sausage was probably a one off. Ee haven't hsd s chagce to visit since. The food is fantastic, if slow to come out, and the coffee is decent. If you use Splenda, though, BYO. Service besides that one hiccup has been wonderful. There's a great feeling to the place that is warm and comforting. We're definitely fans and are thinking about making this our once a month go-to breakfast place on Sundays. I'd call it a hidden gem, for sure!
I have lived in Stallings for many years have never been to Phat Daddy's Cafe until this day. It will definitely not be my last time. This amazing restaurant was right under my nose and I had no idea how awesome it is. Don't let the plain store front fool you. The inside of this Cafe is so charming with that hometown feel. The serving staff were absolutely the nicest folks. And the food was spot on. I recommend the cheese grits. Yummy. So, I highly recommend this sweet little hometown restaurant. You will not be disappointed. I am ready for another visit.
We walked in around 10:45 on a Saturday. It wasn't very busy, we were told to grab a table. Or drink order was taken right away and the food order was placed shortly after. 45 minutes later our breakfast (for just 3 people) came out. The server was sweet, but never offered an update on the food. The hostess sat up front and read a book. Also, it's their restaurant and they can do what they want, but the 8 foot Glamour Shot memorial to someone's deceased mother was off putting, as was the makeshift memorial for the deceased father. The food was very good once it came out, but I will not be returning. It was not for me.
First time going here, tried it on a Sunday morning. Was no wait but a nice crowd. Walked in and the lady manning the front register wasn’t exactly the most welcoming. She assumed I was there for a pickup, asked what name was the order. I told her I’m there to eat inside. She gave me a menu and told me to seat myself. I did, took a good while for a server to come, I saw one couple leave because they didn’t get anyone to their table for a while after they sat down. But I wasn’t on a schedule so I waited it out. I had two different servers which I assumed were working all tables together. Both of them were delightful and friendly. I ordered a veggie omelette with hash browns. Both were good but I do wish the veggies were chopped down a bit smaller. I go to pay my ticket and same lady at the front register didn’t even ask how was my food/experience etc. just took the ticket, swiped my card with zero interaction. But in any case I’d go back simply because I did enjoy the flavor of the food and the two waitresses were sweethearts.
What an amazing spot. There is consistency with the food quality. Their omelets are amazing!!! I always add jalapeños. Coffee amazing, service amazing, clean, family friendly, priced appropriately-love it. I’ll be back again
We have been coming here for 10 years now. We even stop in when we moved to VA. They have great food. Establishment is own by a hard working family of women. Highly recommend the pork chops and Phat Daddy burger.
