Originally I made a good review because the food is good and healthy which I stand by, but the bigger issue is the fact that the plates and cups are always sticky, wet, and dirty. Why should students have to sift through plates to find ones without food residue? And the unclean plates touching the clean plates? A wet, clean plate is one thing, but a wet, sticky plate with weird red marks all over it that can be wiped off with a single swipe is another. If you drink from the drink machines remember to always wipe the rim of your cup.
The food is awful. I've had better meals on airplanes. More often than not, healthy protein options are extremely limited and bland. The vegetables are either unseasoned, mushy, or just diabolical (stewed carrots seasoned with nothing but thyme) and the salad bar is lackluster. Fruit options are nearly nonexistent. Oftentimes there will be shortages of certain items like rice or mixed vegetables, and the pink lemonade is a rare commodity due to the lack of syrup in the soda machines. Portion sizes are usually very small. The scrambled eggs from breakfast gave me diarrhea three mornings in a row. Forks are impossible to find. They say beggars can't be choosers but people pay good money for a meal plan. Every time I send a picture of my plate to my friends, they worry for my wellbeing. I no longer wonder why the chairs inside the dorms rock backwards.
