See All ReviewsThis place reminds me of a small spot in PR called pizza city on Isla Verde Ave. The food, When made fresh and made to order , brings me back to PR . The alcapurias HIT.. The Mofongo de Carne Frita.. Slaps! But.. When it's not fresh , I felt like I was eating leftovers from home. I've gone on numerous occasions, so I'm mixed on an overall rating. I def remember the server from previously being at a small pizza joint on myrtle that was short lived as well. Owner def a nice guy , I believe they are family. Great family feeling BUT if u have to wait, its gonna be atleast 20 min and they need more staff.. downside..the place only seems to be open when they feel like it bc I've been there various days and times and it's a hit and miss. Monday's you are usually out of luck. They dnt have a phone and u have to wait, so..to each his own. Overall good. Could be great with some more effort in the business overall.
Took a drive out to to Sazon after running some errands with my wife and son. Nice small little place. Had some nostalgia with the boom box playing Spanish music remember reminiscing of my childhood hood. The owners are amazing . Me and my wife got to speak with them a bit after eating. They are such amazing people I love their vibe and hospitality. Ok food was 😋 delicious. I honestly haven’t had good PR food in a long time. I can cook a little but mannnnn I ate every bite!!! We started with the Alcapurrias one of yuca and the other guineo. I forgot to take a picture I went straight in for it. I didn’t wanna share but I did. The masa and ground beef seasoned to perfection. I wish I had ordered some to go. Crispy outside and moist inside with seasoned ground beef. My main course was the mofongo witch chicken. The monfongo wasn’t dried out or hard. Great mashed texture. Chicken and broth cover the mofongo. Chicken was seasoned and cook well. Got warm and cozy while eating it was perfect for the cold weather we are having. My wife had the white rice and pork chops she didn’t share with me. Her and the baby were tearing it up. She love that garlic flavor on the pork chops. I washed it down with a KOLA champagne, that was my second one as you can see in the picture. My wife had the lemonade she said that was refreshing and good the baby approved also he kept drinking it she had to take it and give him apple juice cuz he would have finished it on her lol. We also ordered arroz con gandules and pernil to take home. We shall definitely be back to this place for more real good home cooked Puerto Rican food.
The service is amazing everyone is so welcoming and sweet! The food is even better if you are boricua you’ll literally feel right at home! Made me feel like I was in my welas kitchen 😭🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷 definitely coming back !
