Great food, super nice people, overall great experience
I’ll start by saying the food is FANTASTIC! Everything is made from scratch and you can tell! We ordered a variety and shared, being our first time in, we wanted to try several things. The brisket and pork was tender and flavorful…the bark on the brisket was delish. Baked beans were tangy with some brisket mixed in (I personally like thicker baked beans but I’d still order them again), mac and cheese was simple but perfectly done, and the macaroni salad was made with the same curly noodles (Cavatappi) as the mac and cheese, which was different! The homemade barbecue sauce was great, with the perfect blend of sweet and tangy! We also ordered the special that day, which was brisket beef and noodles, and again, like everything else, they were great! I really liked the finer cut noodles. They were supposed to be served with mashed potatoes but they were out, so we got the mac and cheese instead. The chef brought out a sample of a meat he was working on, and it was so tasty! We also sampled the greens…yum! The place is super small. Literally three tables in the dining area, that’s it, so be prepared! The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. My only critiques/suggestions: A bigger drink selection would be nice, and some brewed sweet tea. Currently, there are just a few canned beverages and water. A bread offering of some kind would be a nice addition to the meals…a roll, Texas toast, cornbread, just something… And maybe, some kind of simple dessert offering. A daily cobbler or pudding, even some simple fresh baked cookies. Otherwise, I found this little place to be something worth raving about! Honestly, I wasn’t expecting it to be SO good! Anxious to see them grow!
