The fresh toppings and soft bun made it one of the best fish sandwiches I’ve had in a long time. The atmosphere was friendly, the service was excellent, and everything came out quickly. If you’re looking for a great fish sandwich and a welcoming local tavern, this is definitely the place to go. I’ll be back for another one soon!”
Ordered take out for the first time during lent. I fully understand the part of a business being slammed during this time. However we had to wait and extra 45+ min for our food once we got there. Fine no problem, decent order nothing crazy but was banking on the extra time means fresh hot yummm. We have eaten hangar fish for years. This was actually the worst fish i have ever had. It was wayyyy over cooked no flavor very very very disappointing. Sadly wont be visiting them again this Lenten season. Best part was Ann being at the bar and we got a beer while we waited.
Extremely disappointed with our **takeout** experience at The Hangar. We placed a takeout order for multiple fish dinners and a few other items and were told it would be a 40-minute wait. We arrived right at the estimated pickup time and stood at the counter for over 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. When we finally gave our name, they checked and told us it would be another 30 minutes. At that point, it had already been 55 minutes since we placed the order. I understand it was Fish Friday and places get busy — but don’t give a time estimate if you can’t even come close to honoring it. We ended up waiting another 40 minutes. In total, we waited 1 hour and 35 minutes for a takeout order. Unfortunately, the food wasn’t worth the wait. When we got home, there was only one small cup of tartar sauce for multiple dinners — and it didn’t even taste good. The fish was overcooked, burned, and so hard it was basically inedible. We also ordered pierogies with haluski. The pierogies were extremely dry, and the haluski noodles were hard and tasted like straight grease — no flavor, no seasoning. The coleslaw (which you only get instead of fries, and costs $4) came in a tiny soufflé cup and was sour. Long wait, poor communication, overpriced sides, and food that wasn’t even edible. If you’re looking for good quality fish, I would strongly suggest going somewhere else. This was not worth the time or the money.
