“I stopped in for a fish sandwich and was blown away. The fish was perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside, flaky and tender on the inside—and the portion was generous. The fresh toppings and soft bun made it one of the best fish sandwiches I’ve had in a long time. The atmosphere was friendly, the service was excellent, and everything came out quickly. If you’re looking for a great fish sandwich and a welcoming local tavern, this is definitely the place to go. I’ll be back for another one soon!”
Ordered take out for the first time during lent. I fully understand the part of a business being slammed during this time. However we had to wait and extra 45+ min for our food once we got there. Fine no problem, decent order nothing crazy but was banking on the extra time means fresh hot yummm. We have eaten hangar fish for years. This was actually the worst fish i have ever had. It was wayyyy over cooked no flavor very very very disappointing. Sadly wont be visiting them again this Lenten season. Best part was Ann being at the bar and we got a beer while we waited.
Extremely disappointed with our **takeout** experience at The Hangar. We placed a takeout order for multiple fish dinners and a few other items and were told it would be a 40-minute wait. We arrived right at the estimated pickup time and stood at the counter for over 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. When we finally gave our name, they checked and told us it would be another 30 minutes. At that point, it had already been 55 minutes since we placed the order. I understand it was Fish Friday and places get busy — but don’t give a time estimate if you can’t even come close to honoring it. We ended up waiting another 40 minutes. In total, we waited 1 hour and 35 minutes for a takeout order. Unfortunately, the food wasn’t worth the wait. When we got home, there was only one small cup of tartar sauce for multiple dinners — and it didn’t even taste good. The fish was overcooked, burned, and so hard it was basically inedible. We also ordered pierogies with haluski. The pierogies were extremely dry, and the haluski noodles were hard and tasted like straight grease — no flavor, no seasoning. The coleslaw (which you only get instead of fries, and costs $4) came in a tiny soufflé cup and was sour. Long wait, poor communication, overpriced sides, and food that wasn’t even edible. If you’re looking for good quality fish, I would strongly suggest going somewhere else. This was not worth the time or the money.
My first time visiting, Jamie was the bartender. She was very friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and had such a great attitude. We wanted wings and she was nice enough to explain the flavors because they have a LOT of choices. We ordered battered onion rings that were really good and the wings were very crispy, exactly like we like them. The flavors we ordered were Sweet Buffalo Cajun, Hail 2 Pitt and HSBGP. We loved them all. I was very happy with our experience and would definitely visit again.
Tucked away in a somewhat remote location, this establishment boasts a spacious parking lot, ensuring a spot every visit. With a decent array of beverages, its standout feature is the generously sized whole wings. If you seek satisfying bar food without a lengthy wait, this place is a solid choice.
The food here was great, and the place is clean and smells good for a bar. There is a pool table area, but we did not partake. Chili was delicious, with a spicy kick and crackers! "Crackers make the dish" according to Columbo! I'd award this chili second place in my search as of Jan 2024 We weren't sure what 'pizza logs' were but man were they good. Kind of like an egg roll with pizza fillings. Hubby's sandwich had a heck ton of pickles on it, which I hate but he loves. Matter of taste. Make sure you check out the cool plane out by the parking lot!
I'm not impressed with this place. As a steak salad lover, naturally, I ordered the steak salad. It's definitely disappointing as there were maybe a total of 4 French fries on the salad and hardly any cheese. Sad salad. My dad ordered the fish sandwich and did not like his meal either. I really wanted to give this place a good review. They do have an extensive menu with great choices, so next time, I'll try something different. Either way, this place fell short. Would not go out of my way to eat here again. 3 stars
The food we had was AWESOME! We started with pretzels and they were soft and super tasty and the cheese was amazing! I got the baked fish and vegetables and I loved it! The fish was done, but not dry and and vegetables... I ormally don't like cauliflower, but since it was mixed veggies, I tried the cauliflower! Ate it all! So good!! My husband got the open-faced roast beef sandwich, which he enjoyed. We enjoyed the atmosphere! The reason for the lower review is the waitstaff. Perhaps it was a bad night, I don't know. But 3-4 servers walked by and said nothing. When our server finally did arrive, she wasn't super friendly. Sounded like she may have been having a rough night with some other patrons, but it really soured our experience. Also, maybe a weird thing to note, but they had Monday Night Football playing over the speakers, but it was only on one TV, in the corner. (Not anything that affects my review, but something for management to note, if they read this)
