See All ReviewsI have never been to Thurber Bingus. But its aura is undeniable. I hope someday to make pilgrimage to Thurber Bingus so I may partake in its bountiful blessings of burgers. The image of Thurber Bingus came to me in a dream. I was commanded by the force ghost of Obi-Wan Kenobi to travel to this sacred establishment and order its delectable and scrumptious delights. Also Obama was there.
We really wanted to love Thurber Mingus because it's right down the road and the outside area is great but we've been disappointed every time after trying it three times. Seems like they only have a few on staff with enough experience to get things done. Drinks are watered down, they're always out of something (Who runs out of bacon?) and yet don't mark it on the chalkboard menu above where you order, etc. We ordered guacamole, 6 tacos, a burger and 4 drinks. They brought the tacos (which were soggy and nearly cold) about 30 minutes before the burger and, when we asked why, the answer was, "burgers take longer to make than tacos." Maybe don't make the tacos until the burger is almost ready? There are just too many other burger and taco joints close by with better food and better service for us to go back.
This was a great dining experience for my husband and I. We sat out on the back porch area it has nice lighting and the atmosphere was awesome! We loved the dobbleganger drink! We both had to try the Goat Cheese and Bacon Jam Burger & it was by far the absolute best burger I have ever tasted! Whoever came up with that combination was a genius! The only thing is that they are a bit pricey but it is so worth every dollar! WE WILL BE BACK!!
