2 months agoDelicious! We ordered the butter chicken and lamb vindaloo with garlic naan. All were hot and super flavorful. I will say they are a bit slow, so if you're doing a pickup order, call further ahead. Not sure about dine in service but food is worth the wait.

3 months agoI’ve been here a couple of times. While the atmosphere and service isn’t the best the food was solid. I recently went with my family and I’m extremely disappointed in this place. The place is not clean regardless of what is stated in some reviews and most of the lights are not working. The walls and door are not clean and there are kids toys and coloring all over the place. Only one person was there when we arrived and bless his heart but he was not able to do much (for reasons I won’t mention here) he tried his best to communicate that the cook was not there but will be back in a few minutes. It took him about 10 minutes to get back. Meanwhile, about 4 people came in for their to go orders and the cook lied to each one and said to give him 5 minutes. They ended up waiting 20-30 minutes because he had to still prepare the order. The cook was the cashier and the waiter at the same time, 1 person doing all of this, which made me question the cleanliness even more. We were there almost 2 hours and left disappointed. The food was close to horrible and you can tell that nothing was fresh. He gave us birani that was literally fried rice with added spices and thought he could fool us. I was rooting for them but would rather drive to Beaumont.

5 months agoVery delicious, I’m so glad I found this place! I’m in town from Chicago and have been craving Indian food, and I was excited to see one in southeast Texas. The paneer tikka masala is delightful, very comforting especially on cold days. The garlic naan is excellent. I look forward to visiting this restaurant again!

a year agoThe restaurant impressed me with its cleanliness and inviting atmosphere. The food was delicious, showcasing a rich variety of flavors. I particularly enjoyed the lamb and goat biryani; both dishes were spiced and cooked perfectly, making for a truly satisfying meal. Additionally, the masala tea, which was made in-house, stood out with its aromatic blend of spices and smooth texture, enhancing the overall dining experience. The friendly staff added to the warmth of the place, making us feel welcome and well taken care of throughout our visit.

a year agoSmall family owned Indian Restaurant. Everything is made from scratch, so yes, it does take a little bit while they prepare it fresh. Grab some Garlic & Butter naan and an order of Vegatable Samosa with Masala Tea first. The Chicken Curry with extra Curry sauce, medium spice, and the Chicken Biriyani was Excellent. It's definitely worth the business at a super affordable price.

2 years agoPrices were a bit high for protein to sauce/gravy ratio, not enough protein. Rice was good, garlic naan had great texture and was really fresh, favorite portion of the meal. Great customer service, very friendly.

2 years agoI live nearby and this is one of my girlfriend and I's go to dinner spots. Portions are pretty large and the food is very well spiced and flavorful. The spicy special biriyani with goat and lamb is delicious. We both love the tikka masala and butter chicken as well. Can't wait until they get their naan oven installed.

Edited a year agoVenya’s Kitchen is Nederland’s first and only Indian restaurant! The inside is quaint and clean, and the servers were friendly. I ordered the butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, goat vindaloo, and vegetable samosa. You can choose the spice level, and because my boyfriend’s spice tolerance is in the negatives, we got mild (the lowest) for all the dishes. The dishes were well portioned, and each dish comes with a big bowl of rice. We only got three main dishes for four people, and I think it was perfect. The butter chicken and chicken tikka masala were creamy, and the flavor seeped through the chicken. The goat vindaloo was my favorite. It was spicier, had hints of a limey flavor, and comes with potatoes. The samosas were also good and crispy and came with two sauces, one sweet and one savory, to dip in. They also gave us two masalas chais, which I believe came with the samosas but not sure. I also got the mago lassi, and it tasted like a creamy mango smoothie. Overall, I think this is solid and pretty good Indian food, especially for Nederland.
